The Fifth Annual World Collegiate Go Championship hold in University of Cambridge in July 2018
It is the first time that the Annual World Collegiate Go Championship will be held in Europe。
Today, International University WEICHI Federation released the news on www.ycqweiqi.com: The Fifth Annual World Collegiate Go Championship will be held in University of Cambridge, England from July 9th to July 15th 2018。 The Fifth semi-final of Chang Qi Cup will be jointly held in University of Cambridge as well。
The championship will be jointly organized by International University WEICHI Federation (IUWF), Shanghai Ing-Chang qi Weichi Educational Foundation, British Go Association and University of Cambridge Go Society。 The IUWF has successfully organized four annual Collegiate Go Championships in Hong Kong, Taipei, Toronto and Bangkok, respectively。
More than hundreds of college students from 72 universities around the world attended the Fourth championship in Bangkok, Thailand。 The students from Harvard University, MIT, University of Oxford, Tsinghua University, Peking University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Fudan University, Waseda University, Meiji University, and other famous universities gathered and became friends because of Go。
The top level of Chinese professional Go tournament, Chang Qi Cup has been held successfully in Harvard University, University of Toronto and Panyapiwat Institute of Management in the past three years。
This July, the Chang Qi Cup semi-final will be Europe for the first time。 It will promote the development of Go in Europe。
Chang Hao 9p and Yu Bin 9p will show up and compete with multiple college students。
The World Collegiate Go Championship comprises five groups: Group A (5 Dan or above 5 Dan), Group B (1-4 Dan), Group C(5Kyu-1Kyu), Group D (Under 5 Kyu), Group E (Women’s group)。 The rules and registration for the Championship has been released online www.ycqweiqi.com。
